JAMES PRICE 1904-1953
Victim of Heart Attack in Ligon Mine Funeral services were held January 7 at Meally for James Price, 51, who died suddenly with a heart attack on July 5 while working in the mines of the Clear Branch Mining Company at Ligon. He was a member of one of Johnson County's oldest families and had resided her most of his life. At the time of his death, he was a resident of Bevinsville, Ky. He was born in Oklahoma City, OK, on June 28, 1904, a son of George W. and Hester Auxier Price. He was married to Miss Ruth Music of East Point on May 29, 1918. He was a member of the East Point Masonic Lodge and was affiliated with the United Baptist Church. Survivors besides his widow are two sons and two daughters, Charles Alvin Price, Meally, Pauil Byron Price, Ashland, Mre Buretta Travis, Thelma, and Mrs. Anna Pearl Travis, Ashland, also two sisters, and two brothers, Mrs. Nora Johnson, Thelma, Mrs. George Ferguson, Price, Ky., Garner W. Price, Toledo, Ohio, and Eugene Price, city,. Twelve grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held in the United Baptist Church at Meally by Reverend Leonard Walters, Reverend L.T. Preston. Interment was in the family cemetery at Thelma under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home. Paintsville Herald Jan 14 1953
