SERVICES TODAY FOR JESSE PRICE

Three Weeks' Illness Fatal to Retired Miner

Funeral services were held at one o'clock this afternoon, May 4, 1955 at
the home at River, Ky., for Jesse K. Price, 76, who died Monday morning,
May 2, 1955 in a local hospital following an illness of three weeks. He
was a retired miner.

Born December 30,1878 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Frank and
Susan Franklin Conley. He had been a resident of River, Ky., for 37
years.

He was married January 27, 1898, to Sally Butcher, who preceded him in
death December 24, 1948.

Survivors include six sons, Otto Price, Freeburn, Ky.; Charlie Price,
Dayton, Ohio; Frank Price, Prestonsburg, Ky.; Bill and Russell Price both
of River, and Clark Price, Cameo, W. Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Maude Pigg,
city, Mrs. Ina Castle, Wharton, W. Va.; one brother Silver Price, River.
40 grandchildren and 18-great-grandchildren.

Burial was made in the family cemetery under the direction of the Preston
Funeral Home.
