JAMES HEBER PRESTON 1921-2002 JOHNSON COUNTY James Heber Preston, 81, of Wittensville, died Friday, Sept.27 2002. Born Sept. 6, 1921, in Johnson County, a son of the late J. Langley and Dolla Dixon Preston, he was a miner and a member of Toms Creek Freewill Baptist Church and a WWII veteran. Survivors include his wife, Floine Williams Preston of Wittensville; a son, James Heber Preston of Evansville, Ind.; a daughter, Paulette Preston of Lexington; five sisters, Iva Bailey and Mary Lusk, both of Ashland, Herma Lee Lemaster of Lexington, Dixie VanHoose of Paintsville, and Erie Brown of Wittensville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 30, at Toms Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Revs. J. K. Caudill and John P. Salyers officiating. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery, Wittensville, under direction of Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
