Red Bush resident Lois Salyer Pennington, 61, died Monday, March
17, 1997 at her residence.
  
Mrs. Pennington was born August 15, 1935, in Johnson County, to
the late Freeman and Pearlie Rowland Salyer.
  
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer, and Alger
Salyer; and two sisters, Opal Williams and Christine Osterfield.
  
Surviving are her husband, Ren Pennington; three sons, Greg
Cantrell of Paintsville and Paul and Keith Cantrell, both of Flat
Gap; two daughters, Linda Cantrell Holbrook of West Van Lear and
Brenda Pennington Barnett of Red Bush; one sister, Dorothy Salyer
Paylor of Cincinnati, Ohio; and six grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 20, at Jones Preston
Funeral Home Chapel, with Ellis Hamilton and Isaac Rowland
officiating.
  
Burial was in Salyer Family Cemetery at Red Bush.
