BESSIE PACK
1891-1974

Bessie Meddings Pack, an 82-year old resident of Paintsville, died in
a local hospital last Monday, May 6,1974, following an extended
illness.

She was a daughter of the late Patrick Henry and Mary E. (Nelson)
Meddings.

Mrs. Pack was born November 9,1891, at Tayes, West Virginia. She was
married to James Arthur Pack, who preceded her in death, February 23,
1946.

She was affiliated with the Missionary Baptist Church and a member of
the First Baptist Church of Paintsville.

Surviving are four sons: Bill Pack of Wheelwright; Charles Troy Pack
of Ashland; James A. Pack, Jr. and Paul Douglas Pack of Paintsville.
Also four daughters survive: Hazel Gullett Parker of Rockport,
Indiana; Helen Patton of Salyersville; Lillian Arrowood and Mary
James Richmond of Paintsville. 20 grandchildren and 25 great
grandchildren survive.

Funeral services were held May 8,1974, in the First Baptist Church
with the Reverends Ralph Webb and C.C. Hall officiating.

Burial was in the Pack Family Cemetery in Paintsville with the
arrangements under the direction of the Jones- Preston Funeral Home.
