ALICE MAY PACK Miss Alice May Pack, age 16, died at the King’s Daughter’s Hospital at Ashland January 11. Miss Pack had gone to the hospital for an operation. She had had an attack of infantile paralysis during infancy leaving her with a weakened leg, which necessitated her wearing a steel brace. Her parents had sent her to the hospital with the hope that the defect might be corrected and that she might be able to walk without the brace. The operation was thought to be a very simple one, requiring a small incision at the knee, but for some small reason the operation proved fatal.Miss Pack was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Pack of Paintsville. She was a loveable girl and a favorite of her parents for whom much sympathy is felt. Funeral services were held at Old Friendship Baptist Church at Williamsport and in charge of Rev. John W. Butcher and Rev. Guy W. Preston. Burial at the old home place at Williamsport. The Mountain Furniture and Hardware Company directed the funeral and burial. PAINTVILLE HERALD THUSDAY JAN. 21 1937
