Former Johnson County resident Bobby Ray Nelson, 61, died Monday,
October 13, 1997 at Knox County Hospital in Barbourville.
  
Mr. Nelson was born October 23, 1935, in Johnson County, to the
late Ishmael and Grace Gray Leonard Nelson. He was disabled.
  
He was also preceded in death by one brother, William D. Nelson;
and one sister, Dottie L. Smith.
  
Surviving are one brother, Edward Nelson of Upper Sandusky, Ohio;
and two sisters, Sue Overton of Pineville and, Billie Hicks of
Clarksville, Indiana.
  
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 16, at Jones Preston
Funeral Home Chapel, with Dick VanHoose officiating.
  
Burial was in Nelson Family Cemetery at Thealka.
