LEONA ELIZABETH MULLINS Rites were held Sunday at the Keaton Fork United Baptist Church for Mrs. Leona Elizabeth Mullins, 79, who died August 11 1966 at her home. The seventh daughter and one of thirteen children of the late Thomas and Mary Gambill Rose, Mrs. Mullins was a lifelong resident of Johnson County. She married William H. Mullins on February 27, 1905. The couple had twelve children, nine of whom survive. Her husband preceded her in death, as did three of her children; Ralph, Sarah Elda and Boyd Worth Mullins. Surviving are seven sons, including Jesse, Red Bush; Mort, Keaton; Charles, Campbellsville; Basil and Bobby Elwood, Paintsville; Pearl F., Martha; and Harold of Wheelersburg. Also surviving sre two daughters, Mrs. Polly Margaret Huff of Lexington and Mrs. Maude Bell Hayes of Minford, Ohio. Thirty Five grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren also survive. Two brothers, John and Charles Keaton, and two sisters. Mrs. Esta Thompson of Keaton and Mrs. Luzetts Skaggs of Martha survive Mrs. Mullins. Mrs. Mullins, a member of the United Baptist Church since 1900, served her community as a midwife for more than 30 years. Officiating minister for the services was J.T. Bailey. Burail was in the Mullins family cemetery at Keaton. The Paintsville Herald August 17, 1966
