MRS.WILLIAM J. LOWERY Mrs. William J. Lowery, 73, resident of this city, died in a local hospital at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 24 1963, after a brief illness. The daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Sampson Long, she was born in Tennessee June 16 1889. She had lived in Van Lear for forteen years and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, William Davis Lowery; three sons, Woodrow Lowery, Shelby Gap; William Lowery, Van Lear; Samuel Lowery, Pataskala, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs Myrtle Woodruff, Capron, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Mrs June Anest, Chucky, Tenn.; a brother, Lawson Long Whitesburg, Tenn.; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Colvard, Mashiem, Tenn.; Mrs. Bonnie Hulse, Jacksonville, Florida; Mrs. Ruth Rutter Greenville, Tennessee. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 26 at the Van Lear Freewill Baptist Church with Edgar Hewlett as officiating minister. Burial was in the Clubhouse Cemetery at Van Lear.
