Martha King, 80, of Van Lear died Saturday, November 10, in a local
hospital following an illness of several months.
The daughter of Chilt and Leander Bell Curtis Castle, she was born
September 29, 1893, and was a member of the United Baptist Church.
She was married to the late Jim King who preceded her in death on
December 30, 1968.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Eva Lee Trimble of Columbus, OH,
Mrs. Malta Delong of Plain City, OH, Mrs. Louise Kretser of Van Lear;
three sons, William Edward King of Wabash, IN, Estill Jay King of Van
Lear and Wallace Woodrow King of Paintsville; two sisters, Mrs. Clyde
M. Castle of Red Bush and Mrs. Mary Marby of Ault; five brothers,
Wayne Castle of Ashland, John Castle of Red Bush, Jay Ola Castle of
Staffordsville, Ray Castle of Jacksonville, FL and Lundy Castle of
Conowingo, MD; 33 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
Services were conducted on Monday, November 12, in the Chapel of the
Paintsville Funeral Home with Reverends J. H. Burton, O. I. Williams,
and C. J. Sparks officiating.
Burial was in the Club House Hill Cemetery at Van Lear with
arrangements under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
