POLLY DAWSON

Polly Dawson, age 70, died Monday, May 9, at her home after a
brief illness.
  
The funeral was conducted Thursday, May 12, 10 a.m., at the Old
Friendship Church with John Crum,
  
Nim Sturgill, and O.I. Williams officiating.  Born January 29,
1895 at Williamsport, she was the daughter of Hart and Lizzie Ward
Newsom.
  
She had been a resident of Thelma for the past 48 years and was a
member of the United Baptist Church.
   
Her husband who survives her is W.T. Dawson.  They were married at
Thelma on January 21, 1909.
  
Surviving are two daughters; Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, Thelma and Mrs.
Georgene Maynard, Springfield, Ohio; and a brother Fred Newsom,
Waverly, Ohio.
   
Burial was held at the Dawson Cemetery at Thelma with the Preston
Funeral Home in charge.
