Mabel Irene Daniel, 85, of Van Lear, died Tuesday, Jan.01 2005 at
Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg.
  
Born Dec. 28, 1916 at Johnson County, she was a daughter of the
late John and Wrae Borders Meek.
  
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Daniel.
  
Survivors include two sons, Bill Daniel of Paintsville and John
Daniel of San Diego, Cal.; a daughter, Nancy Burns of Nippa; three
brothers, Joseph Meek of Ashland, Charles Meek of Pine Mt., Ga.,
and Fred Meek of Georgetown; three sisters, Vivian Carnes of
Richmond, Margaret Borders of Lexington and Ethel Pace of Tacoma,
Wash.; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
  
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. tomorrow, Jan. 5, at Preston
Funeral Chapel,
  
Paintsville, with Phillip Lucas officiating.
  
Burial will be in Burns Family Cemetery, Nippa, under direction of
Preston Funeral Home.
