REECE CASTLE 1890-1957 Van Lear Woman Dies Thursday Rites Held Sunday For Mrs. Reece Castle Mrs. Reece Castle, 67, died Thursday Feb.21 1957 in a local hospital following an illness of three weeks. Born February 28, 1890, she was the daughter of the late Jack O. and Rhoda Branham Robinson. She had been a resident of Van Lear for 31 years. Mrs. Castle was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Her husband, Milty Castle, preceded her in death on June 25, 1952. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Katherine Meadows, Van Lear; Mrs. Ruie Webb, Van Lear; and Mrs. Elizabeth Adams, Jenkins; three sisters, Mrs. Lonnie Castle, city; Mrs. Norma Sturgill,Thealka; and Mrs. Nora Castle, Thealka; and one brother, William Robinson, Auxier. Services were conducted Sunday from the Van Lear Freewill Baptist Church, with Claude Preston and Edgar Hewlett as officiating ministers. Music was by the Towns Creek Singers. Burial was made to the family cemetery at Turner Branch under the direction of the Jones and Preston Funeral Home. PAINTSVILLE HERALD FEB.27 1957
