LORENA R. BUTCHER
1909-2006
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 12, 2 p.m. at the Phelps &
Son Funeral Home in Paintsville, Ky., for Lorena R. Butcher, 96,
of Williamsport, Ky., who passed away Thursday, Feb. 9 at Paul B.
Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mrs. Butcher was born Oct. 10, 1909 in Johnson County, Ky.,
daughter of the late Charlie and Louella VanHoose Roberts. She was
a retired operating room technician. She was also preceded in
death by her husband, Herchel Butcher; two sons, Herchel Jr. and
Larry Butcher; one daughter, Avonell Joseph; three brothers, Earl,
Tommy, and Henry Roberts; and three sisters, Eloise Childers, Mary
Brownlee, and Pauline Price.
Surviving are one son, Charles Butcher of Catlettsburg, Ky.; three
daughters, Joann Music of Meally, Ky., Patty Stalnaker of
Lexington, Ky., and Billie Morales of Florida; and 18
grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-
grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Tommy Meade, with burial in the
Butcher Family Cemetery at Williamsport.
Arrangements under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home
of Paintsville.
