Robert Ulysses Burke, 97, of Louisa, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002 at
J.J. Jordan Geriatric Center.
Born Oct. 26, 1904, in Johnson County, he was a son of the late
Grant and Addie Clifton Burke. He was a retired coal miner/farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie Collins Burke; and a
son, Angus Burke.
Survivors include six sons, Willis Burke and Lowell Burke, both of
Van Lear, Paul Burke of Newport News, Va., John Burke of Ohio and
Bob Burke of Wabash, Ind.; a daughter, Wanda Dye of Van Lear; 14
grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at Jones-
Preston Funeral Chapel with Minister Bob McKinney officiating.
Burial will be in Burke Family Cemetery, Van Lear, under direction
of Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
