WALTER BOYD JR 1930 1985 Walter "Red" Boyd, Jr. 54 of Fedscreek, formerly of Paintsville, died January 8 1985, in Buchanan General Hospital in Grundy, VA. Born June 23, 1930, in Johnson County, he was the son of Millard and Gracie Wheeler Boyd. Mr. Boyd was a retired miner. Surviving are his wife, Mary Hamilton Boyd; two sons, Ricky Boyd of Murphysboro, NC, and Steven Boyd of Bryan, OH; two step-sons, Bernard and Troy Roberts, both of Fedscreek; three daughters, Christine Belcher and Myra Osmen of Bryan, OH, and Delores Coe of Murphysboro; and two step-daughters, Cleo Ramey of Fedscreek and Patty Michaels of Phyllis, KY. Also, two brothers, Donald Boyd of Thelma and Homer Boyd of Springfield, OH; two sisters, Avonelle Chambers of Thelma and Mary Alva Davis of Stanfordville, KY; nine grandchildren and 14 step- grandchildren. Funeral services were held January 10 in Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Frank Crum officiating. Burial was in Boyd Family Cemetery at Thelma. Obit Submitted by: Betty Daniels
