CULLEY BOWENS 1906-1961 Culley Bowens, 55, resident of Lowmansville, died at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, October 28 while en route to a hospital. The son of Henry and Millie Bowens, he was born February 22,1906, in Lawrence County and had been a lifelong resident of Lowmansville where he worked as a carpenter. Surviving are his wife , Mrs. Beulah Young Bowens, four sons, Robert Lowell, Donald Gene, David Lee and Jerry Allen Bowens all of Lowmansville. Also surviving are two brothers, Hobert Bowens, Paintsville, Argustus Bowens, Columbus Ohio, four sisters Florence Wilcox, Thealka, Dovie Hale, David, Vonda Castle, Thealka, Gladys Robinson, Wharton W. Va. Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday from the home with Scott Castle as officiating minister. Burial was in the family cemetery at Thealka. Paintsville Herald Wednesday 11-1-1961
