SANFORD J. BLANTON 1887-1963 Sanford J. Blanton, 75, retired postmaster and farmer of Low Gap, died in a local hospital at 2:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 10. The son of John E. and Sarah Williams Blanton, he was born in this county November 26, 1887, and had lived at Low Gap most of his life. His wife, Hester Burchett Blanton, preceded him in death September 1959. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Charlie McKenzie, Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Dencil Long, Louisville; Mrs. Eugene Fairchild, Low Gap; a sister, Mrs. Julia Colvin, Manila. Also surviving are twenty-four grandchildren and fourteen great- grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday at the Low Gap United Baptist Church with Lonza Reed and Samuel Colvin as officiating ministers. Burial was in the Blanton Cemetery.
