Vivian W. Bayes, 79, of Wittensville, died Wednesday Oct.11 2000 in
Paul B. Hall Medical Center in Paintsville.
  
Mrs. Bayes was born Feb. 3, 1921, in Johnson County, a daughter of
the late Argales and Minnie Emily Rice Witten.
  
Her husband, Hershel Bayes, died in 1982.
  
Surviving are a sister, Edith Sadler of Harold; and several nieces
and nephews. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Jones-
Preston
  
Funeral Home in Paintsville by Dick Vanhoose.
  
Burial will be in Witten family cemetery in Wittensville.
