 MABLE BARNEY
1904-1954

Mrs. Mable Oppenheimer Barney, 50, well-known former resident
of this city, died suddenly in her home in Columbus, Ohio,
Saturday, November 20 1954.

She had been ill for the past 5 years and death occurred
following a stroke.

Born August 19, 1904 in Elliott County, she was the daughter
of the late Silas and Mary Jane Evans Oppenheimer.

Her early childhood was spent in Paintsville where she attended
the city school and was popular in social and school activities.

She was formerly married to Sam Stapleton and two children were
born, Mrs. Jerry Archer and Jerry Stapleton both of Paintsville.
She made her home in Columbus, Ohio for the past seven
years following her marriage to Henry C. Barney, who survives.

Survivng besides her husband and and children are two sisters,
Mrs. W.E. Thomas, Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Oliver DeHart,
Sandy Hook, Ky.; three brothers Dr, O.P. Oppenheimer, Lexington,
Rudolph Oppenheimer , Columbus, and George Oppenheimer,
Cincinnati, Ohio.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 23, at the Jones
and Preston Funeral Home with the Rev. John Weir, Sr.,
officiating.

Burial was made in the Richmond Cemetery under the direction
of the Jones and Preston Funeral Home.
