HENRY BARBER 1895-1958 C.& O. EMPLOYEE, PASSES JULY 9 Henry Barber, 63, veteran C. & O. Railway employee, died in a local hospital Wednesday, July 9, 1958, at 6:33pm, after an illness of three months. The son of the late Lewis and Julia Lambert Barber, he was born May 13, 1895 in Boyd County, and had made his home in this city for the past fifty-one years. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen and was employed as a brakeman for the C. & O. Surviving are his widow, Patty Spradlin Barber, City; one son, Bryan Barber, City; three daughters, Mrs. Blanche Daniels, City; Mrs. Phyllis McKenzie, Auxier; Mrs. Doris Wheeler, Lexington; three brothers, Jack Barbar, Bricknell, Ind.; Jerry Barber, Charles; Curtis Barber, City, one sister, Mrs. Julia May, Carpenter, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted from the home at 2:00p.m., Saturday, July 12, with Rev. S. C. Honeycutt, Rev. C. C. Hall and Rev. O. M. Simmerman officiating. Music was by Toms Creek Singers. Active pallbearers were Warren Auxier, Loren Auxier, James Auxier, Earnest Auxier, Jim Barber, Dick Barber, Jack Barber, and Russell Barber. Honorary pallbearers were C. & O. Railway employees.
