LEXIE BAILEY
1916-2001
Funeral services were held Saturday May 19, for Lexie Preston Bailey,
85, who died Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical
Center.
Mrs. Bailey was born January 25, 1916, in Johnson County, to the late
Ballard and Martha Walters Preston.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Bailey; one
daughter, Brookie Whitt; four brothers, Cecil Preston, Johnny
Preston, Earl Preston and Clarence Preston.
Surviving are three sons, Douglas Bailey, of Carlisle; Kenneth
Bailey, of Cape Coral, Florida; Darrell Bailey, of Okochobee,
Florida; five daughters, Leola Cole, Faye Bailey and Ruth Ellen
Bailey, all of Salyersville; Pensacola Bailey Young, of Corbin and
Laveda Law, Kinshasha, Congo; two sisters, Elizabeth Branham, of
Boons Camp and Evelyn Daniel of Logan, West Virginia; and 24
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Officiating services at the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel were
Donald Young and Jack Howard.
Burial followed in the Lakeview Cemetery at Staffordsville.
