Funeral services were held Sunday, January 16, for Leonard "Dogwood"
Arrowood, 78, who died Friday, January 14, 2000 at
Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington, Ky.

Mr. Arrowood was born May 3, 1921, in Johnson County, to the late
Leonard and Laura Belle Ward Arrowood.

He was a petroleum distributor, member of Kiwanis for 60 years,
member of First Baptist Church and veteran of the U.S. Army,
having served during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Arrowood,
on January 20, 1994.

Surviving are his wife, June Ella Preston Arrowood; one son,
Greg Arrowood, of Shelby, North Carolina; three brothers,
Oscar Arrowood of Huntington, West Virginia, Hank Arrowood of
Lavalette, West Virginia, and Jim Arrowood of New Bern, North Carolina;
two sisters, Ruby Arrowood of Huntington and Betty St. Clair
of Littleton, Ohio; and one grandson.

Officiating at services at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel were
James Kelly Caudill and Donnie Patrick.

Burial was in Wells Cemetery at Paintsville.
