A 16-year-old Johnson County girl was killed Monday when the all-
terrain vehicle she was riding apparently overturned at Bear Hollow
near East Point.

Funeral services are set for Friday, July 6,at Johnson Central High
School for Sonda Denise Arms, of East Point, who was to have been a
junior at the high school this fall.

Miss Arms reportedly died in-flight as she was being transported by
HealthNet helicopter Monday evening from Paul B. Hall Regional
Medical Center to St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.

A spokesperson for Burchett's Ambulance Service said Miss Arms was
injured at about 7:30 p.m. Monday when a four-wheeled all-terrain
vehicle she was riding overturned.

A member of the JCHS Marching Eagle Band. Miss Arms is survived by
her parents, Robert and Charlene Williams Arms, and a brother, Robert
Douglas Arms, 11, all of East Point.

She was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saints.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Friday in the cafeteria at
Johnson Central.

Sonda Arms

Sonda Denise Arms, 16, died Monday, July 2, in St. Mary's Hospital,
Humington, West Virginia.

Ms. Arms was born May 8, 1974 in Johnson County, the daughter of
Robert and Charlene Williams Arms. She was a student at Johnson
Central High School, where she was a member of the band, and was a
member of thc Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Surviving are her parents; one brother, Robert Douglas Arms; her
paternal grandparents, Bill and Malta Tackett Arms of East Point; and
her maternal grandmother, Edna Williams, of Oil Springs.

Funeral services were held Friday July 6, in the cafeteria at
Johnson-Central, with Elders Glen Kirk and Pete Grigsby Jr.
officiating.

Burial was in Arms Cemetery at East Point, with Paintsville Funeral
Home in charge of arrangements.
