MINNIE ARMS
1916-2006
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 13, 11 a.m. at the Jones-
Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Minnie Arms, 89, of Paintsville,
Ky., who passed away Thursday, Feb. 9 at her residence.
Mrs. Arms was born July 26, 1916 in Johnson County, Ky., daughter
of the late Elijah V. and Martha Collins Arms.
She was a homemaker.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Arms; two
sons, Howard and Richard Arms; and one daughter, Helen Arms.
Surviving are one son, Roy Arms of Paintsville; three daughters,
Dorothy Hatton of Winchester, Ky., Martha Vandeventer of
Mishawaka, Ind., and Shirley Walls of Wyatt, Ind.; four brothers,
Bill Arms of East Point, Ky., James Arms of Denver, Colo., Luther
Arms of Magoffin County, Ky., and Elva Arms of Paintsville; three
sisters, Mae Page of Salyersville, Ky., Josephine Arms of Oil
Springs, Ky., and Betty Sue Salyers of East Point; and 22
grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-
grandchildren.
The service was officiated by John M. Wheeler and James E. Woods,
with burial in the Arms Family Cemetery at East Point.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home
of Paintsville.
