MARY ALICE ARMS 1889-1961 Mrs. Mary Alice Arms, 72, died at 3:30 p.m., Friday, April 21, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Allie Adkins, Van Lear, of a heart condition from which she had suffered for the past six years. The daughter of the late Burns and Rebecca Preston Conley, she was born at Hager Hill April 1, 1889, and had lived at Van Lear for the past six years. Her husband, Dan Arms, preceded her in death October 1, 1942. Other survivors include another daughter, Mrs. Nettie Skidmore, Thealka; a stepson, Herschel Arms of this city; two brothers, Irvin Conley, Van Lear; Smith Conley, Water Gap; a sister, Margaret Kestner, Camargo, Ill. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday from the home of her daughter at Van Lear with Arthur Ramey and Cline Salyer as officating ministers.
