JESSE WOODS
1901-1974
Former Johnson Countian, Jesse Woods, of London, OH, died Jan 10 at
the age of 72. A retired miner, he was the son of Charlie and Emma
McKenzie Woods and was born in Johnson County in May 1901.
He was a member of Chandlersville Lodge 858 F & AM.
Mr. Woods was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Daniels Woods, in
May 1951. Two sons and three daughters survive. They are Charles
Woods of London, Jesse Woods, Jr., of Marysville, OH, Joyce Bromely
and Jane Meyers, both of London, and Rudelle VanHoose of Huntington,
WV.
Surviving brothers and sisters include James Woods of Catlettsburg,
Esta O'Bryan of Staffordsville, Clara Collier of Mechanicsburg, OH
and Suna Gibbs of Woodstock, OH, four grandchildren.
Services were held in the chapel of the Jones- Preston Funeral Home
at Paintsville on Jan 13 with Rev. Bruce Daniels officiating. Masonic
rites were conducted by the Chandlersville Lodge.
Burial was in the family cemetery at Nippa.
