GEORGE MOSES WELLS
George Moses Wells, 75, widely known citizen of Daniels Creek, died at his home at 8:30 a.m., Sunday, October 25, from a heart ailment. He had been in ill health for two years, but his death was unexpected.
He was a merchant and postmaster at Odds and was a lifelong resident of this locality.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mrs. Wells was born April 07, 1878, a son of George Morgan and Susan Dingus Wells. He was married on May 13, 1903, to Miss Cora Honeycutt at Odds.
Surviving besides his wife are six sons and three daughters, George Wells, Wet Van Lear, ; Arthur Wells, Van Lear, John O. Wells, Cleveland, Ohio; Willie L Wells, Van Lear, Woodrow Wells, West Van Lear; Henry Wells, North Kenova, Ohio; Mrs. Brooksie Collins, Van Lear, Mrs. Etheridge Williams, Van Lear, and Mrs. John T. Adams, Henryville, Indiana.
Also surviving are thirty-one grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Goble, Lancer, KY., and Mrs. Dock Montgomery, West Prestonsburg.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m October 27 at the residence by Rev. Spurgeon Honeycutt.
Burial was made in the family cemetery under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home.
