Pricie Ward, 79, Passes Monday At Williamsport
Mrs. Pricie Ward, 79, died at her home at Williamsport Monday, August 26, at 1:00 a.m., after an illness of several months.
The daughter of John H. and Amanda Brown Wiley, she was born November 23, 1877 in Carter County. She had resided at Williamsport for the past five years and was a member of the United Baptist Church.
Her husband, John H. Ward, preceded her in death eight years ago.
Survivors include seven children; five sons, R. C. Ward, Wharton, W. Va., William, Elkorn City, Heber and Ray, both of Los Angeles, California, and Roy, Cincinnati, Ohio, two daughters, Mrs. Joel H. Conley, Alger, Ohio and Mrs. Willie Duty, Williamsport.
Also surviving are three brothers, Merida Wiley and Carl Wiley, both of Paintsville and Morton Wiley of White House, one sister, Mrs. Ella Spears of Hager Hill, and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted today at 10:00 a.m. from the White House church with Glen Arrowood, Flem Arrowood and Nim Sturgill officiating ministers.
Burial was in the family cemetery.
