Sarah Francis Daniels Walters, 83, died Thursday, June 26, 1947, at
the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. B. Williams Wittensville.  She
was the wife of the late James P. Walters.

Surviving are eight children, Oscar Walters, Ashland, Proctor
Walters, River, German Walters, Georges Creek, Vint Walters,
Patrick, Jesse Walters, Ashland, Heiskel Walters, Ashland, Mrs. C.
H. Stambaugh, city, and Mrs. Williamson.

She was a member of the Baptist Church at River.

OBITUARY

Sarah Francis Daniels Walters, born Monday, November 23, 1863, died
at the age of 83 years, seven months and three days.

She leaves two sisters, Mrs. W. A. Lyon and Mrs. Lafe Walters, of
Ashland, also one brother, H. A. Daniel of White House.

She was married to James P. Walters on Thursday, April 15, 1880.
To this union were born nine children.

Oscar Walters, Ashland, Proctor Walters, River, German Walters,
Georges Creek, Vint Walters, Patrick, Jesse Walters, Ashland, Mrs.
Cort Daniels, deceased, Mrs. C. H. Stambaugh, Paintsville, and Mrs.
S. B. Williamson, Wittensville.  She leaves forty-nine
grandchildren and 56 great grandchildren.

She joined Friendship Church on Saturday, December 4, 1886, being
in the service of the Lord, sixty-one years.  Her membership was
transferred to the River Church at the time of organization.  She
served as deaconess of River Church until the death of her husband,
twenty- four years ago.

The children, seeing mother’s end near at hand, questioned her as
to her last words to them. She replied, “What more can I say that I
have always said.  I have always been a praying mother, giving good
advice to my children and grandchildren.  I have been a believer in
secret prayer.  There is nothing for me to fear, only the sting of
death.”
