ADDIE VIRES
1877-1960
Mrs. Addie Vires, 82, died Wednesday, May 4, 1960, at the home of her
son, Dola Vires, Van Lear, after and illness of one month.
The daughter of the late Nathan and Manda Hitchcock Honeycutt, she
was born in this county November 26, 1877, and had resided in the Van
Lear vicinity all of her life.
Her husband, Alex Vires, Preceded her in death.
Survivors include another son, John Vires, Van Lear; two daughters,
Mrs. Lucy Keel, van Lear; Mrs. Etha Wells, Toplin, W. Va.; one
brother, Rev. S. C. Honeycutt, Auxier; five sisters, Mrs. Bertha
Collins, Auxier; Mrs. Belle Webb, Greenup; Mrs. Mary Wells, Detroit,
Michigan; Mrs. Cora L. Wells, Van Lear; Mrs. Virgie Phelps, West Van
Lear.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m., Friday from the
Philadelphia Church of Christ with Rev. Cecil Sherman officiating.
Burial was in the family cemetery at Van Lear.
