WILLIAM STAMBAUGH
1926-2002
JOHNSON COUNTY
William “Lafe” Stambaugh, 75, of Stambaugh,
died Friday, March 1, 2002 at King’s Daughters’ Medical
Center, Ashland.
Born June 10, 1926, in Letcher County, he was a son of the
late Robert and Alice Burchett Stambaugh.
He was a retired Ford Motor Company Mill Right and a WW II
Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Pearlene Vanhoose Stambaugh of
Stambaugh; a son, William Paul Stambaugh of Belleville, Mich.;
a brother, Clem Stambaugh of Auxier; a sister, Janice Crigger
of Hopkinsville; two grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Homer Picklesimer
Monday, March 4, at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel,
Paintsville. Burial was in Hershell Vanhoose Family Cemetery,
Nippa.
Jones-Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
