MRS. SARA L. RAMEY
DIES THURSDAY, JUNE 1
Funeral services were held last Friday at the Cannon Chapel at
Volga for Mrs. Sara Louise Ramey, 80, who died at her home
Thursday, June 1.
She was buried in the family cemetery at Volga with the Revs. Harry
Salyer, Don Fraley and Norman Davis officiating.
Mrs. Ramey was born in Floyd County but spent most of her life at
Volga where she was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Christ.
She was a daughter of John and Angeline Blackburn Brown.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Plura Crislip, Mrs. Norma
Blair, and Mrs. Lydia Stapleton, all of Volga, Mrs. Renee
Fairchilds, Richmondale, Ohio, and Mrs. Ethel McKenzie, Flat Gap,
three sons, Robie Ramey, Volga, Irvin Ramey, David, and Arthur
Ramey, West Prestonburg. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Lettie
Sturgill, Flat Gap, one half sister, Mrs. Rebecca Daniel, Sitka,
and one half brother, George Brown, Mt. Sterling.
Burial was under the supervision of the Jones Funeral Home Music
was furnished at the services by the Tom's Creek Quartette.
