Marhta Ramey 84,
Dies in Local Hospital
Mrs. Martha Ramey, 84, of Volga died Tuesday, June 18, 1957, in a
local hospital following an illness of six weeks.
Born in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and
Margaret Brown. She spent most of her life at Volga and was a
member of the Methodist Church.
Her husband Alex Ramey preceded her in death 16 years ago.
Surviving are six sons, W.B. Ramey, of Ashland; Dallas Ramey, of
Clinchport, Va.; Fairy Ramey, and Albert Ramey, both of Columbus,
Ohio; Rhube Ramey, of Milford Center, Ohio; Creston Ramey of
Fairborn, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. Nancy Hitchcock, of New
Castle,Ky.; four sisters, Mrs Nancy Salyer, of Columbus, Ohio; Mrs.
Lucina Scarberry, of Nippa; Mrs. Hattie Stapleton, of this city;
and Mrs. Nerve Kimbleton, of Blaine; and other brother, Andrew
Brown of Volga.
Services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday from the Cannon's
Chapel with Millard Van Hoose and H.B. Holland as officiating
ministers.
Burial was made in the family cemetery.
