Barnetts Creek,
Dies January 25

Guy Bandy Preston, 75, resident of Barnetts Creek, died at his home
at 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 1961, after a three month
illness.

The son of Shadrick and Elizabeth VanHoose Preston, he was born in
this county November 14, 1885, and had been a lifelong resident of
Barnetts Creek where he worked as a carpenter.

He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jennie Williams Preston; a daughter,
Mrs. Raymond McCarty, Barnetts Creek; a sister, Mrs. Manford
Picklesimer, Barnetts Creek; Bird Preston, Barnetts Creek. Also
surviving are three grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted from the home at 11:00 .m.,
Saturday, January 28, with Lonza Reed and Charley Lemaster as
officiating ministers.

Burial was made in the family cemetery.
