SHADE MUSIC SR.
1901-1978

Shade Music, Sr., 76, 387 Bent St., died Saturday at 5:15 a.m. in
Wabash County Hospital.

He was a retired coal miner.

Services were at 2:00 p.m. today in Jones-Preston Funeral Home,
Paintsville, Ky.  The Rev. Roy Burkhart and the Rev. Bobby Webb
officiated.

Burial was in Balbutcher Hill Cemetery, Johnson County, Ky.

Mr. Music was born Aug. 11, 1901, in Johnson County, Ky., to John
and Lyddia (Mollett) Music. He was married Dec. 29, 1925, in
Paintsville, Ky., to Sarah Staniford, who survives.

Also surviving are six sons, James, Shade Jr., Walker and Ray,
Wabash; Sam, Johnson County, Ky., and Newton, Hammond, Ky.; three
daughters, Mrs. Richard (Dorothy) Burke, Mrs. Frank (Dixie) Perky,
Wabash, and Mrs. James (Edith) Fletcher, Logan, W.Va.

Also surviving are a brother, Newton Music, Van Lear, Ky.; three
sisters, Mrs. Marathie Ramey, Van Lear, Mrs. Vernie Mollett,
Johnson County, Ky., and Mrs. Lizzie Mullins, Paulding, Ohio; 28
grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren.

He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

Note: This cemetery is also known as the Ballard Butcher Cemetery.
