SARAH ALICE MUSIC
1909-1979
Sarah Alice Music, 70, 1316 Creekside Dr., died unexpectedly at
10:57 p.m. yesterday in Wabash County Hospital.
A Wabash resident two years, she was born June 19, 1909, in Johnson
County, Ky., to John Samuel and Mary (Ward) Staniford, both
deceased. She was married Dec. 29, 1925, in Paintsville, Ky., to
Shade Music, Sr. He died Dec. 31, 1977.
Surviving are six sons, Sam, Johnson County, Ky., James W., 578 Elm
St., Shade Jr., 387 Bent St., Walker, 588 Elm St., Newt, West Van
Lear, Ky., and Ray, Pries Road; three daughters, Mrs. Richard
(Dorothy) Burke, 459 E. Main St., Mrs. Frank (Dixie) Perkey, 560
Elm St., and Mrs. James (Edith) Fletcher, 1001 Ferry St.
Also surviving are two brothers, Grant Staniford, Boones Camp, Ky.,
and G. Staniford, Ft. Say, W.Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Tackett,
West Van Lear, Ky., and Mrs. Jenny Collins, Sunbarry, Ohio; 30
grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
One son, two daughters, one brother and one sister are deceased.
Mrs. Music was a member of the Erie Street Freewill Baptist Church.
Friends may call at Eddingfield Mortuary after 2:00 p.m. tomorrow.
The body then will be taken to the Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Paintsville, Ky., for viewing after 7:00 p.m. Sunday. Services will
be 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Jones-Preston Funeral Home. The Rev. Roy
Burkhart will officiate.
Burial will be in the Bow-Butcher-Hill Cemetery, Johnson County,
Ky.
Note: This cemetery is also known as the Ballard Butcher Cemetery.
