LUCILLE “Lula” MAY
1914-1990
Van Lear resident, Lucille (Hitchcock) May, 76, died Tuesday, July 3,
in Hazard Nursing Home.
Mrs May was born February 20, 1914 in Johnson County, the daughter of
Benjamin Hitchcock and Virgie Spradlin and the stepdaughter of Josie
Caudill Hitchcock. She was a member of the United Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gail Edward May, in 1983.
Surviving are two sons, Paul May of Leander, and Jack May of Fuget;
two daughters, Patsy Butcher of Van Lear, and Janet Horne of
Paintsville; one sister, Zetta Caudill of Denver; and 16
grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 5, in Paintsville Funeral
Home Chapel, with Elders Rutherford Blair and Jerry Colvin
officiating.
Burial was in the family cemetery at Leander.
