ROY MITCHELL LYONS SUCCUMBS TUESDAY, VICTIM OF CANCER
Roy Mitchell Lyons 18 year old son of Bert and Margie Ward Lyons of River, KY, died Tuesday morning May 29, 1956, at his home following an illness of four years. Death attributed to cancer.
He was a student at Meade Memorial High School prior to his illness.
Surviving besides his parents, are his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Maudie Ward, four brothers, James Robert, Charles Arthur, Dennis Ray, and Larry Keith all at home, and two sisters, Mrs. Alberta Buckley, Massillon, OH., and Anna Louise Lyons at home.
Funeral services were held at the home Thursday, May 31 with Cully Sparks, Leonard Walters and Florida Lyons as officiating ministers.
Burial was made in the Ward Cemetery under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home.
