KERMIT KEEL
1911-1998
  
Kermit Keel, 86, of Van Lear, died Saturday, January 4, 1998, at
Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg.
  
He was born December 29, 1911, in Pike County, the son of
Kelly Keel and Mary Setser Keel.
  
He was a retired coal miner. he was preceded in death by his parents;
and his wife, Lucy Vires Keel, who died May 14, 1997.
  
He is survived by three sons, Herman Keel of Continental, Ohio;
Mermon Keel of Defiance, Ohio; and Bobby Keel of Van Lear; two
daughters, Dorothy Slone of Van Lear; and Judy Meade, of Defiance,
Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
  
Services will be January 7, at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with
Manford Fannin and Roger Hill officiating.
  
Burial will be in the Keel Family Cemetery in Van Lear.
