HOBERT HAYES

Hobert Hayes, 74, died Tuesday, January 11, 1977, at his residence
after an extended illness.

Mr. Hayes was born July 27, 1902 in Johnson County, the son of
Henry and Bertha Ward Hayes. He was a retired employee of C & O
Railroad.

Surviving are his wife, Mary B. Cantrell Hayes; three sons,
Randall and Ronald, both of Paintsville and Charles of Kingsport,
Tenn.; five daughters, Madalene Dixon and Edwinna Wood, both of
Hager Hill, Doris Castle, Morris Elaine Travis and Sharon Brown,
all of Paintsville; 18 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 13, in the Jones-
Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Michael Heacock and
Larry O'Bryan officiating.

Burial was in the family cemetery at Hager Hill with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
