MYRTLE MARIE DORTON
1936-2003
  
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 21, 1:00 p.m. at
Jones-Preston Funeral Home for Myrtle Marie Staniford Dorton,
67, who passed away Tuesday, June 17 2003 at her residence.
  
Mrs. Dorton was born April 7, 1936 in Johnson County, KY,
daughter of the late Willie and Estella Smith Staniford.
  
She was a restaurant worker.
  
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Dorton.
  
Surviving are nine sons, Curtis, Jr., William J., Ricky,
Kenny, Andrew and Scott Dorton, all of Flat Gap, KY, Bobby
Dorton of South Point, OH, Arnold Dorton of Tampa, FL and Mike
Dorton of Thealka, KY; three daughters, Helen Burke of Lady
Lake, FL, Theresa Taylor of South Point, OH and Rose Lewis of
Ashland, KY; two brothers, Johnny Staniford of Sitka, KY and
Sam Staniford of Dayton, OH; one half-brother, Hobbie Witten
of Sitka, KY; three sisters, Delores Doster and Mary McKenzie,
both of Paintsville, and Nancy Mollett of Thealka, KY; 44
grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
  
The service was officiated by Terry Conley, with burial
following in the Butcher Family Cemetery at Boons Camp, KY.
  
Arrangements under the direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home
of Paintsville.
