WILLIAM E. DANIELS
Retired Miner, Dies At Irvine
William E. Daniels, 91, retired miner of the North East Coal Company, died in the Estill County Hospital at Irvine at 4:45 a.m., Thursday, May 21, 1964, following a brief illness. A son of the late William and Rachel VanHoose Daniels, he was born in Lawrence County June 20, 1872, and formerly lived in Johnson County. Prior to moving to Irvine three years ago, he resided in Seco for 20 years. He was a member of the United Baptist Church, Lonesome Pine Lodge 884 F & AM Fleming and El Hasa Shrine, Ashland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Loutitia Boyd Daniels, in 1938. Survivors include a son, Clyde Daniels, East Point; three daughters, Mrs. Lillian Preston and Miss Mona Daniels, Irvine; Charlotte Daniels, Alexandria, Va. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services were conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Jones- Preston Funeral Home with Tommy Reynolds as officiating minister. Burial was in the Concord Cemetery at Thealka.
