HOWARD CONRAD CONLEY
1924-1986
Retired Lt. Col. Howard Conrad Conley, 62, died May 25 in
Charleston Naval Hospital, Charleston, SC, following an
extended illness.
Mr. Conley was born February 10, 1924, at Flat Gap, the son
of BENJAMIN and DORA MEADE CONLEY.
Surviving are his wife, Ada Lee Ritter Conley; a son, John
H. Conley, of Charleston, SC; two daughters, Rachael J.
Conley of Charleston, SC, and Connie L. Merizan, of McCook,
NB; two brothers, Ray Conley, Wittensville, and Bryon
Conley, of Flat Gap; seven sisters, ruth McKenize, of Flap
Gap, Lexie Dixon of Waycross, GA, Anna Jewell Bechulheimer,
of Columbus, OH, Florence Meade, of Burlington, KY, Merle
Fairchild, Oil Springs, Fern Lyon, Martha, and Hazel
Johnson, Morehead; and one grandchild.
Funeral services were held Thrusday, May 29, in Flat Gap
Enterprise Baptist Church with Harold Salyers officiating.
Burial was in Conley Cemetery at Flat Gap, with Preston
Funeral Home in charge of arrangement.
