GEORGE LESLIE CONLEY 1876-1953 A brief illness proved fatal to George L. Conley, 76, retired farmer of Red Bush, who died at his home Thursday, February 12, 1953, after an illness of five days. A son of the late Daniel J. and Mary Honaker Conley, he was born in Johnson County May 10, 1876, and had been a resident of the county all of his life. He was a member of the United Baptist Church. His wife, Virginia Conley, preceded him in death, January 17, 1951. Survivors include three children: one daughter, Mrs. Vonnie Jaynes, Flat Gap; two sons, Ray, Lucasville, Ohio, and Tom, Circleville Ohio. Services were held at the Bether United Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, February 15, 1953, by Rev. Lonza Reed and Rev. Tommie Bailey. Burial was in the family cemetery at Barn Rock under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home. Paintsville Herald 2-18-1953
