BENJAMIN CAVINS
1890-1974
Benjamin Cavins, 86, died Sunday, November 22, in the Paintsville
Hospital after a short illness. He was born February 27, 1890, in
Johnson County, a son of Sam and Lucy Daniels Cavins.
Mr. Cavins was a resident of Sitka and a retired miner. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Graves Cavins, in 1965.
Surviving are a son, Clarence Cavins, of Sitka ; four daughters, Jane
Price of Paintsville, Betty Sparks of Sitka, Golda Laney of Offutt
and Dovie Lemaster of Wittensville, two sisters, Lizzie Ratliff of
Willard, Ohio and Tida Simpson of Drift; 38 grandchildren and 39
great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 24, in the Jones-
Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends James K. Caudill and Ellis
Hamilton officiating.
Burial was in the Doc Osborne Cemetery at Whitehouse with Jones-
Preston Funeral Home handling arrangements.
