LEANDER BELL CASTLE 1873-1951 Mrs. Leander Bell Castle Mrs. Leander Bell Castle, 77, died in a local hospital, Wednesday, May 30, at 10:00 p.m., after a few days illness. She was born November 22, 1873, in Johnson County, the daughter of George and Rachel Cantrell Curtis. At the time of her death, she was a resident of Van Lear, where she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Jim King. Her husband, Chilt Castle, passed away 7 years ago. She was a devoted member of the United Baptist Church. Surviving are six sons, J. O. Castle, Staffordsville, John Castle, Red Bush, Wayne Castle, Cattletsburg, Lundie Castle, Washington, C. C., Ray Castle, Mechanicsburg, Ohio, and James Castle, Monaville, W. Va., three daughters, Mrs. Jim King, Van Lear, Mrs. Golda Jenkins, Van Lear, and Mrs. Mary Conley, Cattlettsburg, and two sisters, Mrs. Powell King, Chillicothe, Ohio, and Mrs. Sarah McKenzie, Fort Gay, W. Va. Funeral services were conducted at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jim King, at Van Lear, Saturday, June 2 at 10:00 a.m., with the Revs. Cullie Sparks and Lonza Reed officiating. Songs were song by the Paintsville Quartet. Burial was in the Van Lear cemetery under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home. Paintsville Herald Thursday June 7, 1951
