EARL BUTCHER
1916-1998

Earl Butcher, 81, of Boons Camp, died Wednesday, January 21,
1998, at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in Hazard.

He was born April, 3 1916, in  Johnson County, the son of
Ballard and Laura Deboard Butcher.

He was a retired coal miner.

He was preceded in death, by his parents.

He is survived by his wife; Janie Crum Butcher, who he
married June 1,1935, in Johnson County; four sons, Glen Otis
Butcher, Charles "Red" Butcher, and Freddie Butcher, all of
Boons Camp; and Earl Ray Butcher of Tomahawk; one daughter,
Ruby Branham of Williamsport; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-
grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

Services were January 23, at the Little Friendship United
Baptist Church with Jerry Colvin, Kenny Preece, and Shade Lee
Walters officiating and Preston Funeral Home caring for those
arrangements.

Burial was in the Ballard Butcher Cemetery in Boons Camp.
