For Prominent Citizen
William C. Bowe, 76, of Wittensville, prominent resident of this
county, died July 26, 1950 at 7:00 p.m. in a local hospital
following an illness of one year.
He was born in this county on December 31, 1873, the son of *Jack
and Margaret Webb Bowe and had been a resident of Wittensville for
the past 48 years.
He was a farmer by occupation and was a member of the
Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his widow, **Margaret Webb Bowe, two daughters, Mrs.
***Alka Rice, Garrett, Miss. Bessie Bowe, at home, four half sisters
and one half brother, Mrs. Ollie Macabee, and Mrs. Nora Wilbur,
both of Russell, ky., Mrs. Odie Combs, Logan, W. Va., Mrs. Helen
Webb of California, and Andrew Bowe of Russell, Ky.
Funeral Services will be held at the home Saturday, December 8,
with Rev. John Daniel and Rev. Lonza Reed officiating.
Interment was made in the Winifred cemetery under the direction of
the Guy W. Preston Funeral Home.
