RITES HELD JUNE 24 FOR
WELL-KNOWN WOMAN

Mayme Blair Blanton, 39, died suddenly at 10:20 a.m., Friday,, June
22 a her home in Volga.

She was born September 21, 1911, at Volga, the daughter of Drice
and Norma Ramey Blair, and was married in 1930 to Sanford Blanton,
all of whom survive her.

A well-known county woman, she was a life-long resident of Volga,
where she was a member of the United Baptist Church.

Besides her parents and husband, she is survived by a daughter and
two sons, Mrs. Dennis Blair, Barnetts Creek, Charles Blanton and
Billie Blanton, both of Olga.  Also surviving are five sisters and
four brothers, Mrs. Mary Fairchild, and Mrs. Sarah Fairchild, both
of Wittensville, Gracelee Blair, Volga, Mrs. Lydia Webb, Sitka,
Mrs. Opal Conely, of this city, Carl,Bill and Drice Blair, Jr., all
of Volga, and Dave Blair, U.S. Air Force, Alaska

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 24, at 10:00 a.m. at the
home by Revs. Lonza Reed and Jimmy Blanton.

Burial was in the family cemetery under the direction of the
Paintsville Funeral Home.
